"The jury met on 28 January and 24 February and decided to award the
"Career Prize" to Piero Dorazio, the internationally famous artist
from Rome. Dorazio is particularly worthy of this prize because of the depth
and importance of the research underlying his work, the consistently high quality
which he has developed and continues to develop and his ability to express the
terms of modernity with continuity and displaying richly expressive values."
