Domenico Bianchi

Biography

Picture Domenico Bianchi

Born in Sgurgola in the Roman countryside in 1955, Domenico Bianchi emerged in the early 1980s as one of the most interesting artists then returning to pictorial language as a tradition worth revitalizing after years of radical experimentation in the art world. Bianchi starts off from premises different from those of his contemporaries in the Transavanguardia movement; his paintings do not recuperate the figure but rather represent an expressive balance between the use of icons and textbook abstraction.
