Biography

Picture IngridMwangiRobertHutter

Ingrid Mwangi and Robert Hutter born 1970 in Nairobi and Ludwigshafen.
In 2005, after working together for several years and marrying, Mwangi and Hutter merged their names and biographies, began working as one artistic identity, and formed the collective IngridMwangiRobertHutter. They declared that all of their work—new objects as well as previously completed ones—would be attributed to their collective. IngridMwangiRobertHutter, a doubled-bodied single artist, creates engaging, provocative, physically demanding, and at times, unsettling works.
Live and work in Ludwigshafen/Rhein, Germany and Nairobi, Kenya
